Enrollment Process
Step 1: Create an account for our Enrollment Portal.
- Through the Enrollment Portal, you can complete your online application, receive real-time updates, and track your admissions status every step of the way.
Step 2: Complete admissions requirements.
- Submit your child’s registration form and required documents using one of the convenient options below:
- Upload documents directly through your Enrollment Portal account

Step 3: Monitor your enrollment status
- After submitting your application and required documents, continue checking your Enrollment Portal for status updates, missing items, and next steps. Our admissions team will contact you if additional information is needed.
Eligibility Requirements
Beacon Online Academy of Indiana serves full-time students in grades 9-12 who meet the requirements of this Policy and who are residents of the state of Indiana.
Beacon Online Academy of Indiana does not charge tuition or discriminate in its pupil admissions policies or practices based on intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, status as a student with a disability, or any other basis that would be illegal if used by a school district.
If you are unable to provide any of the documents listed below, please contact the Enrollment Office for assistance.
Proof of Student Identity and Guardianship
Provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate (official or hospital-issued) showing the child’s legal name, date and place of birth, and parent(s)/legal guardian(s).
If a birth certificate is not available, you may submit:
- Proof of Guardianship (court documentation), and
- Proof of Identity (child’s passport or birth affidavit)
Proof of Residency
Provide one (1) of the following documents showing the parent/legal guardian’s name and current residential address where the student lives. P.O. Boxes are not accepted.
Acceptable Documents:
- Indiana driver’s license or state identification card
- Indiana vehicle registration
- Utility bill (electric, gas, water, cable, or phone) dated within the last 90 days
- Property deed or mortgage statement
- Lease or rental agreement showing (typically first and last page):
- Property address
- Lease start and end dates
- Names and signatures of both the tenant and landlord
- Pay stub dated within the last 90 days showing:
- Employer name and address (or company logo)
- Parent/legal guardian’s name and address
- Military orders showing the physical address and parent/legal guardian information (for active-duty military families)
Immunization Record or Waiver
All public schools, including online public schools, require families to provide an immunization record or a completed exemption waiver for all students.
Academic Records for High School Students
- Grade 12: Unofficial transcripts are required.
- Grades 10–11: Unofficial transcripts or course history records are requested to support appropriate course placement.
Special Services Documentation (Requested if Applicable) If your child receives special education services or accommodations, please provide any available documentation, such as an IEP, 504 Plan, evaluation report, or related services plan. Submitting these documents at enrollment helps ensure a smooth transition and timely support

Do I have to pay anything to enroll?
Since Beacon Online Academy of Indiana is a public school, no tuition is associated with enrollment.
What grades are offered by the school?
Students between 15 and 21 years of age who dropped out of high school or are at risk of dropping out of high school.
What subjects will my child take?
High school students take traditional courses.
Will my student have an Indiana state-certified teacher?
Yes, all our teachers hold current Indiana teaching credentials.
Does the school supply course materials?
Our school provides a school Chromebook to every student for the duration of the student’s schooling. The school-provided computer is requested during the online enrollment process. Student must also have access to reliable, high-speed internet connection.
How do I get started?
Upon enrollment approval, you are officially enrolled in our school as a full-time student and should not be enrolled in any other program. Within 48 hours, you will speak with an enrollment specialist. Your Enrollment Specialist will partner with you to ensure you feel completely prepared and confident to start this journey. You will also be assigned a teacher who will support your student’s academic and social success. Our Teachers are experienced in education and assist with scheduling classes, discussing college and career options, and creating plans to overcome learning obstacles.
